Lentine is a Colorado based pro-athlete, chef, and Ayurvedic practitioner that offers performance-based recipes, meal planning, and nutritional guidance for athletes across the globe.
The site had operated as a blog for many years and the client was using Patreon to manage a separate recipe library membership through email. The goal of the build was to combine existing content from the blog with the membership functionality offered by Patreon, adding a central repository or past recipes, as well as adding new features and opportunities for diverse revenue streams through consultations, physical products, affiliate products, and brand partnerships.
The main focus of the build was a usable, searchable recipe library that has a mix of paid (paywalled) and free content that allows users to find recipes by ingredient, serving size, season, etc. The members-only recipes can be accessed by signing up for a monthly membership or purchasing particular physical or consultation products. The member database and recipe library are synced to a third-party CRM, giving the client a one-click experience when publishing and promoting new content.
The recipe custom post type and backend management of recipe content was streamlined and tailored to the client’s exact use case, allowing them to more efficiently enter and manage content. This also allowed the client to better highlight specific elements of their recipes that spoke to their brand and mission as well as offer helpful tools like scalable serving sizes and ingredient amounts.
The post-purchase process was customized for each product type (digital, physical, and consultations) ensuring a seamless and inviting user journey while creating areas on the site to offer contextual upsells.
The design for the site was provided by Bovine in Boulder, CO and I worked with their team to identify potential development issues during the design phase and offer solutions for adapting designs to various devices.
